GREAT-GRANDPA'S ROCKING CHAIR:
I am fortunate to have inherited quite a few pieces of antique items from both sides of my family. One of the items is my father's childhood rocking chair.
My father, Mylen Schulte, was born March 29, 1923 in Detroit, Michigan. I don't know who gifted him with this rocking chair but he kept it over the years and it had a place in our home when I was growing up.
My father didn't live long enough to see his great-grandchildren but when my niece had her first son I gifted the chair to her and she took it home with her.
Over the years, she has been blessed with 3 little boys and each one has sat in their great-grandpa's rocking chair.

I know my father would have loved these little guys and he would be so proud to see them all using the rocking chair he used over 102 years ago. I am so pleased as well that the chair held up this well for its age.

Hmm.... this makes me wonder... what ever happened to MY little rocking chair? I'm guessing it would have gone to my grandchildren at some point... but where is it now??? I've sent forth an inquiry...
I hope you can find it. It would look great as a decorative piece in your beautiful new home.
